Preparation

Overview

Prepare yourself for an amazing experience! The Preparation phase is all about getting set up with the right tools and getting registered for the forums ready to start the challenge on August 1st.

Blog Entries

Once you have iTunes installed and set up properly (see videos below) then you should be able to get all of the videos and podcasts there. But they will also be available from here and the associated blog entries.

Actions

Remember to watch the videos first before diving in with these actions!

  1. Build a team (2, 4 or 5 people work best). Use the Team Talk forum for this (login necessary).
  2. Register with Digg.com
  3. Register with StumbleUpon.com
  4. Try digging for the 30-Day Challenge site!
  5. Register for the Thirty Day Challenge Forums.
  6. Download and install the Firefox Browser and Add-ons (optional add-ons in brackets):
    NOTE: Install add-ons from Firefox browser!!
  7. Register with Bloglines and add TubbyNerd and ThirtyDayChallenge feeds.
  8. Use the Options or Preferences in Firefox to set Bloglines as your feed reader.
  9. Use the Session Manager to create a set of working sites with Firefox.
  10. Download and install iTunes and QuickTime from Apple.
  11. Set up iTunes preferences (see iTunes video Part 1).
  12. Subscribe to the 30-Day Challenge content feed in iTunes (see iTunes video Part 2).
  13. Give the Thirty Day Challenge Blog the thumbs up using your StumbleUpon toolbar and Tag it on del.icio.us.
  14. If you like, do the same for this site and give it a nice review on StumbleUpon!
  15. Get out into the World (away from your computer) and start noting down niche ideas - what's popular and what are people buying?.
  16. Register with Facebook.
  17. Add Dan and Ed as friends in Facebook.
  18. Join the Thirty Day Challenge Facebook group.
  19. Sign up for Twitter.
  20. Add Dan's and Ed's Twitter profiles so you can see what they're up to.
  21. Install the Thirty Day Challenge Toolbar.

Notes

I recommend getting a small notebook that you can dedicate to the challenge and use it to keep track of site logins, the people you're teamed up with and all the things you need to do.
